Optimize your Solvent Based Lamination operations with advanced solvent recovery for lamination solutions, a crucial component of effective VOC emission control technologies. Reduce environmental impact and operational costs by implementing efficient systems that recycle and reuse solvents. From cost-effective solvent recovery systems for Solvent Based Lamination converting plants to custom installations, explore how our solutions help you comply with stringent regulations and improve your bottom line. Discover the advantages of using solvent recovery in Solvent Based Lamination converting operations and enhance your sustainability efforts.
DEC.SRU-Lam™ tackles VOC emissions head-on by capturing solvents directly from the exhaust stream of Solvent Based Lamination presses. These recovered solvents are then directly reused as dilutants (diluent, reducer, thinner) in the lamination process.
This innovative approach not only ensures compliance with environmental regulations but also promotes sustainable converting practices.
Discover DEC.SRU-Lam™, the leading VOC recovery solution for the Solvent Based Lamination industry. Utilize our advanced activated carbon technology for effective solvent recovery, promoting sustainability while reducing costs and environmental impact. Learn more about our innovative process at DEC.

The true value of DEC.SRU-Lam™ lies in its cost-effectiveness. By enabling the infinite reuse of the recovered solvent at a fraction of their original purchase price, these Solvent Receovery Units significantly reduce or even eliminate the need for fresh solvent purchases. This translates to substantial long-term savings and a strong return on investment (ROI).
Solvent Based Lamination
Solvent Based Lamination, often simply referred to as lamination, or SB lamination, is a widely used converting method in the flexible packaging industry. It involves the application of solvent-dissolved adhesives to a primary substrate before bonding it to a secondary layer. This process is essential for creating high-performance barriers that protect products from oxygen, moisture, and light.
The solvent used in the lamination process is: Ethyl acetate (ETAC).

benefits | solvent recovery for Lamination • DEC.SRU-Lam™
Solvent Recovery Units (DEC.SRU™), also known as Solvent Recovery Systems (SRS) or Solvent Recovery Plants (SRP), are industrial Air Pollution Control devices used to recover solvents from air emissions of lamination industries. SRUs stand out as the premier solution for lamination converters seeking to minimize solvent emissions (VOCs) in a sustainable way. Unlike alternative VOC emission control methods (thermal oxidizers), DEC.SRU-Lam™ avoids the generation of greenhouse gases (including CO2, NOx), contributing to a truly DECarbonized converting process.
Beyond environmental benefits, DEC.SRU-Lam™ offers a range of additional advantages for lamination converters:
DEC.SRU-Lam™ goes beyond simple emission reduction. It empowers lamination converters to achieve true environmental sustainability, while optimizing their operations for cost-effectiveness and efficiency.

evolution of technology • DEC.SRU-Lam™
DEC has a long history of providing solvent recovery solutions for the lamination industry. DEC introduced the first DEC.SRU-Lam™ in the early 1970s and innovation has continued: DEC has recently launched the 10th generation of DEC.SRU-Lam™, featuring the latest available process technologies, making solvent recovery more accessible and economical for businesses of all sizes.
urethane grade Ethyl Acetate • DEC.SRU-Lam™
The DEC.SRU-Lam™ efficiently capture and dehydrate solvent vapors to produce high-purity Ethyl Acetate (ETAC) that meets or exceeds urethane grade specifications: by utilizing advanced dehydration technologies DEC.ADM™ coupled with multistage distillation DEC.DST™ systems, the recovered ethyl acetate achieves purity levels up to 99.9%. This high-quality output allows the Customers to directly reuse the recovered solvent directly in the production lines, without any quality compromise. The DEC.SRU-Lam™ ensures that every Customer receives a robust, automated, and efficient solution designed for continuous industrial operation and maximum resource efficiency.

extra modularity | compact footprint • DEC.SRU-Lam™
DEC.SRU-Lam™ is modular, boasting an extra compact footprint, minimizing the amount of site floor space and project time required for installation. This translates to greater flexibility in your facility layout and reduces the need for costly civil works. This simplifies the integration process and can significantly reduce upfront costs associated with foundation or support structure needs.

dare to dream big • DEC.SRU_SMS™ (Smart Modular System)
Applying the DEC.SMS™ platform, DEC has streamlined the solvent recovery process, making it cost-effective and efficient, allowing for a simpler and more economical approach to solvent recovery, now making SRUs available to Solvent Based Lamination industries of any size, also the smaller ones.
DEC.SRU-Lam™ technology is a revolutionary new modular approach to solvent recovery that is simple, economical, and effective.
DEC Solvent Recovery Units (SRUs) are available in both skid modular layout (DEC.SRU_SMS™ • Smart Modular Systems, pre-built and pre-tested at our workshops) or in full customizable version (DEC.SRU_CBS™ • Custom Built Systems, with on-site erection).

SLA (Solvent Laden Air) is pushed by the fan(s) through a multi-adsorber (activated carbon) system, to allow a high efficiency VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) capture.
Once the adsorbent is saturated (automatically monitored by a VOC analyzer), the system is automatically cleansing the adsorbent, through the best-in-class inert-gas DEC.RSG™ regeneration cycle: the system is using an exclusive DEC.PHD™ dehydration process (in gaseous phase), allowing the direct recovery of an anhydrous solvent mix (DEC.LHP™ process).
DEC.SRU-Lam™ is equipped of the DEC.THR™ (waste heat energy recovery modules), powered by DEC.ULP™ | DEC.UltraLoop™, determining the lowest operating costs in the market.
consistent performances • DEC.SRU-Lam™
The Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of DEC SRUs dedicated to Solvent Based Lamination converting reached a high level of maturity, classified as TRL 9 (actual system proven in operational environment, according to ISO 16290:2013).
This translates to the DEC.SRU-Lam™ technology being commercially available and having a proven track record of delivering consistent performances in real-world applications.
