Past | Present | Future

From industrial foundations to global engineering leadership. DEC's story is a continuing evolution of technology, people and industrial capability. More than a century of technology heritage provides the foundation. DEC's Milan engineering roots from 1946 provide the company identity. The present turns that heritage into industrial performance, while the future keeps it moving.

100+ Years of Industrial Technology Heritage

DEC's industrial technology heritage reaches back through the technology landscape of the 1920s. The lineage includes Peabody International Corporation, S.R.E.P. and CECA, alongside the development of DEC's own industrial air-treatment activities.

DEC's engineering platform was established in Milan in 1946 by the Giorgetti-Formigoni family. The business evolved through Depurazione di Emissioni per l'industria Chimica, Depurazione Emissioni Convogliate and DEC Impianti. In 1988, DEC integrated key activated-carbon and Air Pollution Control process know-how associated with Peabody GCI and CECA. The modern DEC • Dynamic Environmental Corporation identity was adopted in 1996.

heritage timeline | from technology to DEC

The journey is defined by industrial know-how carried forward, integrated and adapted to new generations of applications. It is a story of engineering continuity, entrepreneurial determination and the practical development of technologies for industrial emission control.

milan 1946 | building from the ground up

In post-war Milan, Angelo Giorgetti and his family rebuilt their industrial activity from the foundations up. The story is one of resilience, work ethic and entrepreneurial determination. That drive became the foundation of the company that would evolve through its successive industrial identities.

present • engineering strength

From heritage to industrial capability.

Today, DEC is an Italian multinational Group specializing in the design, engineering, manufacturing, installation and maintenance of advanced industrial and sustainable Air Pollution Control systems, including retrofit and revamping.

Its technology platform includes activated-carbon Solvent Recovery Units (SRU), thermal oxidizers (XTO), Rotary Bed Concentrators (RBC), activated-carbon vapor-phase adsorption and related environmental engineering solutions.

DEC's industrial strength comes from connecting process understanding, engineering discipline, manufacturing know-how and customer service. These capabilities support customers across 25+ established industrial markets.

family enterprise | continuity with purpose

DEC remains a family-led industrial group with a long-term perspective. Generational continuity supports investment in technical knowledge, engineering capability, customer relationships and the development of the next generation of industrial technologies.

  • Common values provide a shared approach to engineering, customer relationships and responsible industrial development.
  • Long-term commitment supports decisions made for lasting industrial value rather than short-term objectives.
  • Stability enables continuity while preserving the ability to respond quickly to changing industrial requirements.
  • Entrepreneurial drive keeps the organization focused on practical innovation and measurable customer value.
future • fearless innovation

Heritage that keeps moving.

DEC is not looking backward. Its heritage is a platform for the next generation of industrial technology. The company continues to invest in innovation, research and development, engineering capability, customer support and sustainable performance.

  • Research and Development: advancing technologies, services and products for increasingly demanding industrial applications.
  • Global development: supporting industries worldwide with engineered solutions and technical expertise.
  • Environmental performance: improving VOC emission control, resource efficiency and sustainable industrial operation.
  • Continuous improvement: carrying hard-earned industrial knowledge into new technologies and applications.
A century of heritage. A future of innovation.

One direction: forward.

“At DEC, we leverage our years of experience in providing innovative sustainable emission control solutions and technologies that add value and effectively mitigate volatile organic compounds (VOCs), driving the industry and the world forward.”
