Multi-Recipe Management System
DEC.MRM™
Automated Process Control for Fluctuating Feed Compositions
In modern industrial process engineering, variable solvent mixtures present significant operational challenges for separation infrastructure. Fluctuations in raw solvent concentration, water content, and volumetric flow directly impact separation efficiency and thermal energy consumption. DEC.MRM™ (Multi-Recipe Management) provides intelligent automation for continuous solvent recovery units and distillation systems, ensuring reliable operating efficiency regardless of incoming solvent variability.

Dynamic Setpoint Adaptation and Operational Execution
DEC.MRM™ links predetermined analytical parameters directly to customized, pre-configured control matrices. Plant operators can select the appropriate recipe profile via the control interface based on incoming feed analysis.
To ensure process stability, safe thermal transitions, and prevent off-spec mixing across column stages, switching to a new recipe profile requires a controlled shutdown of the DEC.DST™ unit, followed by a system restart under the new operational parameters.
DEC.MRM™ is an integrated component of the DEC.ATP™ (Advanced Technology Platform).
Core Operating Parameters Controlled by DEC.MRM™
- Feed Flow Control: automatically sets mass feed flow rates (kg/h) to balance thermal load across distillation columns.
- Reflux Ratio Optimization: modulates reflux flow rates to optimize overhead product purity while preventing unnecessary column flooding or energy loss.
- Bottom Thermal Profile: delivers precise reboiler temperature demand adjustments to guarantee heavy/light components separation.
- Column Pressure Balance: synchronizes system pressure control across vacuum, atmospheric or pressurized stages to preserve stable vapor liquid equilibrium.
Key Operational Benefits for Customers and Industrial Operations
Deploying DEC.MRM™ within your process plant delivers immediate improvements in yield, energy management, and operational stability.
- Maximum Energy Efficiency: operating parameters adjust precisely to actual feed composition, eliminating thermal utility waste caused by conservative manual safety margins.
- Consistent High-Purity Output: DEC.MRM™ preserves product specification requirements during raw material batch changes, safeguarding downstream solvent reuse quality.
- Controlled Operator Interface: operator recipe selection removes manual calculation errors while ensuring structured, sequence-controlled plant restarts for optimal operating safety.
- Seamless APC Integration: engineered for direct integration with DEC distillation systems (DEC.DST™), Solvent Recovery Units (DEC.SRU™), and broad industrial automation frameworks.
Available configurations DEC.MRMx™
Depending on the operational requirements and the number of feed composition profiles, the DEC.MRM™ module can be configured in the following variants:
- DEC.MRM2™: manages up to two distinct process recipes;
- DEC.MRM3™: manages up to three distinct process recipes;
- DEC.MRM4™: manages up to four distinct process recipes;
- DEC.MRM5™: manages up to five distinct process recipes.
Note: for complex separation applications requiring customized control matrices beyond five recipes, tailored software configurations can be engineered upon request.
Flexible Deployment: New Systems or Retrofit (RFT) Upgrades
Whether configuring a new plant or enhancing an existing operational footprint, DEC.MRM™ offers versatile integration pathways tailored to your facility requirements:
- Optional Module on New Installations: Integrated directly during the design and EPC phase of new DEC.DST™ distillation units, ensuring optimized control logic from initial commissioning.
- Retrofit (RFT) Package: Supplied as a specialized plant retrofit package to upgrade existing distillation columns and control automation without requiring full system replacement.

FAQs • Frequently Asked Questions
Multi-Recipe Management System • DEC.MRM™
What does DEC.MRM™ actually do?
DEC.MRM™ links predetermined analytical parameters directly to customized, pre-configured control matrices, so plant operators can select the appropriate recipe profile via the control interface based on incoming feed analysis.
Can I switch between recipe profiles while the plant is running?
No. To ensure process stability, safe thermal transitions, and prevent off-spec mixing across column stages, switching to a new recipe profile requires a controlled shutdown of the DEC.DST™ unit, followed by a system restart under the new operational parameters.
Can DEC.MRM™ be added to an existing distillation unit, or only new installations?
Both. DEC.MRM™ can be integrated directly during the design and EPC phase of new DEC.DST™ distillation units, ensuring optimized control logic from initial commissioning, or supplied as a specialized retrofit (RFT) package to upgrade existing distillation columns and control automation without requiring full system replacement.
Which systems does DEC.MRM™ integrate with?
DEC.MRM™ is engineered for direct integration with DEC distillation systems (DEC.DST™), Solvent Recovery Units (DEC.SRU™), and broad industrial automation frameworks.
How many recipe profiles can DEC.MRM™ manage?
DEC.MRM™ is available in DEC.MRM2™ through DEC.MRM5™ configurations, managing up to two, three, four, or five distinct process recipes respectively. For complex separation applications requiring customized control matrices beyond five recipes, tailored software configurations can be engineered upon request.
Is pricing available for DEC.MRM™, and can I purchase it directly?
DEC.MRM™ is a custom-engineered control system with no fixed list price. It is sized and configured per project once DEC's engineering team has evaluated your process requirements, feed variability, and existing (or planned) DEC.DST™ or DEC.SRU™ hardware.
